Overview

A walk through the conifer plantations of Dartmoor on an early April afternoon — tall spruce stands, moss-softened ground, dry-stone remains, and a moorland stream threading between the trees.

Shot across a single afternoon, the series follows light moving through the canopy: from the open, gorse-lined riverbank into the deep shaded interior of the wood, and back out to the grazed edge where the forest meets open moor.

Photographs taken in 2026, Dartmoor National Park, Devon.
